1. Overview
Chip Chad is a machining calculator and shop reference. The web app stores some browser-side data so the calculator can remember your local setup choices, and it can use optional web analytics to understand page performance and product usage.
This page supplements the Made Lyle Style Privacy Policy and describes Chip Chad-specific browser storage, cookies, and analytics.
Primary privacy policy:
2. Browser Storage Used by the App
Chip Chad uses browser storage, including local storage, to remember calculator preferences and recent selections on your device. Examples include machine selection, material recents, custom machine values, and similar setup state.
This storage is used so the calculator behaves consistently across visits on the same browser. It is not used to sell personal information.
3. Optional Analytics
When enabled, Chip Chad uses Microsoft Application Insights to collect limited web analytics and technical diagnostics such as page views, route changes, browser context, and error or performance telemetry.
These analytics are optional. On the web app, analytics stay off until you allow them through the cookie and analytics prompt.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Optional analytics may use cookies and similar browser storage to support session measurement, repeat-visit recognition, and telemetry buffering. Browser-side functional storage may also be used to preserve your app settings on the same device.
5. Managing Your Choice
You can reopen the analytics prompt from the Cookies link in Chip Chad. You can also clear site data for this domain in your browser to remove locally stored settings and saved consent choices.
6. Third-Party Services
Chip Chad may use third-party services or infrastructure providers to operate the site and collect technical telemetry. Their handling of data is governed by their own terms and privacy materials.
